Jomah Enterprise, Inc was founded in 2001 due to a plight of a little girl and a young woman who had lost the most important man in her life, her father. Imagine, this beautiful black girl, afro hair, ivory teeth that sparkled when she smiles, and bow legs that allowed her to walk in a way you think she might fall but knew how to stride with those legs. She had so much energy at her age and very curious. It all started when I met Klubo. Klubo had lost both parents to the civil war and was living with her relatives. She was ill-treated, at her age. At that time she was about 8 years old. Instead of a home that would embrace her and provide comfort, love, and education, that wasn't the case for Klubo. Instead she was cleaning, cooking, and washing clothes for her relatives at that tender age. Klubo was eager to learn but was not given the opportunity to do so. She wasn’t the only kid that caught my attention. I saw children being used as bread winners to provide for their families. I saw children selling items to provide food for their families. This not only saddened my heart but this also made me very angry. I grew up in an environment that indicated parents were responsible to protect and provide for children. However, what I was seeing did not make sense. People who should be protecting and providing for children, were allowing children to provide for themselves. It was difficult to watch. After the burial of my father, I returned to America with a goal in mind and that was to assist one child. I felt if I could just help one child, I have accomplished the task that God had for me. My purpose was birth but I didn’t know how to fulfill this calling. I sought my heavenly father and He showed me what my father was trying to accomplish before he died and that was to assist the people in Sinoe by providing education and a stable community. Imagine a newborn brought into this world, depends on that parent for their basic needs, comfort, support, love, a safe environment and a sense of belonging. But what happens when that child doesn’t have such needs met? Imagine what happens to that child that should have been a prominent individual of society? When the above needs are not met: • That child will tend to fend for themselves the best way they know how. Children will do what they have to in order to survive. • Children will then come across predators who take advantage of the situation which leads to (prostitution, abuse, neglect, drugs, etc.). The sad part of this is what that child is not taught, they are unable to give. Providing the children’s basic needs, education, love, a place, and community that the children can call home and feel they belong are the goals of this organization. Jomah Enterprise, Inc is in the beginning stages and has a huge potential for growth. There is a need that is unmet. Establishing this organization will not only assist the children who have lost loved ones due to some form of tragedy but the people of Sinoe will benefit from this organization in terms of employment, development of the county, etc. We are proud to serve the people of Sinoe and our constituents and be a force in changing lives. Jason Silva spoke at The IIA International Virtual Conference 2020 and he said something that resonated with me and will be a part of me. He stated that when someone states they would like to be a billionaire immediately we equate that with currency but in the future, changing billion lives will be the new billionaire. Partner, serve with us to make Jomah Enterprise Inc the organization that change billion lives.
